The streets were packed with thousands of sightseers from Ashbourne and far afield, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Olympic flame. Street performers rode unicycles and juggled, sellers touted their flags and YAS sang a selection of songs for their entertainment. Linda Perry Smith led them in a London medley, very apt for the occasion and in such favourites as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Any Dream Will Do.
