St. John’s Church, Ashbourne
A combination of two accomplished groups made a solemn and respectful tribute to those who served and are still serving.
Ashbourne Town Band, under the musical direction of Russell Bevan and The Ashbourne Singers, led by Linda Perry Smith, performed a moving programme to a full church.
After separate pieces from each, they combined to sing and play five movements from Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man.
The service ended with prayers, the Act of Homage and finally, the National Anthem.
